Orienteering is a relatively new sport booming in Europe, born in Scandinavia, which has a large number of fans in the world.
Defined the sport of woods, as it carries out in full contact with nature in a spirit of adventure and ecology.
The athlete equipped with a compass and topographic map needs to be home by passing through a series of checkpoints and marked on a specially made paper. Each participant can choose the way to go from one point to another, the important and do it as soon as possible. They are then required speed, agility and skill in reading the terrain map of the race.
Can be undertaken at both competitive and recreational families and fans of all ages. A sport of great educational value, recommended by the Ministry of Education and taught in Italian schools.
It is practiced throughout the Italian territory, by the Apennines mountain forests, but also in the plains and even in cities. It ‘a sport that brings to life a real thrill to its practitioners. In most cases, is practiced on foot, but also mountain biking and skiing trails.
